Charter school company drops one L from 'Public' in newspaper ad

Sometimes omissions do make headlines and how could the ad below escape the hawkish eyes of the newspaper readers:

The one-letter error printed in a Washington paper turned something seemingly harmless into something quite ghastly. 'Are you interested in Pubic Charter Schools?' the ad in Tacoma's News Tribune read while missing an 'L' in a highly essential place.

Readers of the ad gasped in horror before turning red-faced with laughter. Yet most didn't realized the monstrous mistake until reading it more than once.

It was only after it was pointed out by a member of the press that it was embarrassingly removed while admitted as a ‘mistake.’ 'This was our mistake,' Jim Spady, a spokesperson for the Washington Charter School Resource Center told KING5.

Super Bowl 2012 and the Volkswagen Beetle

The Superbowl 2012 is likely to be clash of epic proportions as an East Coast showdown between the New England Patriots and the NY Giants takes place on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

While the teams and the fans are gearing up with much fanfare to participate in the Super Bowl 2012, many advertisers have come up with commercials that are attributed to the this great show of game.

Of almost 30 Super Bowl related commercials, Business Insider has picked up one by VW that speaks volumes of physical fitness and speed which are the two basic ingredients of the Super Bowl.

The commercial is about a flabby dog which in a bid to catch up with the new VW Beetle undertakes strenuous physical exercises to realize its dream. Watch the video below: You will appreciate the innovation and aesthetics that have gone in making this commercial !!

[ Asia One ] 9 Dec

Wearing only bright red sweat pants and standing in a neat row, men with tight bods rather created a stir along Orchard Road. The men will continue to be "there" until the opening of apparel brand Abercrombie & Fitch's flagship store in Singapore.

About 40 male models have been hired to stand in a straight row in front of the store at Knightsbridge - which will officially open next Thursday - and take turns to greet passers-by daily from 11am to 5pm.

Pope-Imam Kissing Ad: Vatican takes legal action

[Via BBC Europe] 17 Nov

The disgusting ad that appeared on media recently has raised many an eyebrow all over the world. Although the Italian cloth manufacturing company to which the ad is attributed has already called to pull out the ad, the strong world reaction has compelled Vatican to take legal action.

A statement said the Vatican had told its lawyers in Italy and around the world to "take the proper legal measures" to stop the use of the photo, even in the media.

The ad, with its doctored image, is part of a global advertising campaign. It consists of photo montages of political and religious leaders kissing each other on the mouth. The company said the ad aims to "battle the culture of hate."
