Jordan Spieth crowned youngest Masters winner since Tiger Woods

Icons and titles do not belong to anyone forever - and that is exactly what Jordan Spieth did as he was crowned youngest Masters winner since Tiger Woods.


Aged just 21 from Texas and now the world number two golfer after Rory McIlroy, Spieth was awarded the coveted green jacket for his 18-under par with a final score of 70 - the same score that gave Woods his first green-jacket 18 years ago - and setting new standards for the 36 and 54 holes.

Spieth has now become the first wire-to-wire winner at the Masters since Raymond Floyd in 1976, and the second youngest Masters winner of all time.

Paul Lawrie wins Qatar Masters

Scotland's Paul Lawrie shot a terrific final-day 65 to win the Qatar Masters and continue his fine start to 2012.

The 1999 Open winner finished four strokes clear of Australia's Jason Day and Sweden's Peter Hanson.

It ma be added that the Doha tournament was reduced to 54 holes after strong winds allowed only three hours of play on Friday.

Poulter upstages Donald

Ian Poulter made good on his goal to upstage fellow Briton Luke Donald at the Australian Masters, Melbourne, shooting a sparkling six-under-par 65 to take a one-shot lead after the first round on Thursday.

Both players soaked up the morning sunshine in sublime conditions at Melbourne’s Victoria Golf Club, but it was the smartly-dressed Poulter turning the most heads as he notched seven birdies to edge early pace-setter Ashley Hall of Australia.  

World number one Donald rolled in only two birdies and struggled to build momentum in his first professional tournament Down Under, but displayed enough of his trademark control to finish with a blemish-free 69, four strokes behind.

Tiger Roars Again: Wins Chevron World Challenge

People cheered and Tiger roared - something that his fans wanted fro the last two years. There he was - standing over a 6-foot birdie putt Sunday to win the Chevron World Challenge at Sherwood Country Club on December 4, Thousand Oaks, California.

Woods poured in the putt to cap off a birdie-birdie finish at Sherwood, close with a 3-under 69 and beat former Masters champion Zach Johnson by one shot. The win ended a drought that lasted 749 days, and might have signaled a change that Woods is on his way back, says Huffington Post.

Aaron Baddeley takes 24 hours to rebound and turns wrong into right, in the same pressure-packed situation on the 18th hole at Royal Melbourne. His 3-wood off the final tee in the alternate-shot foursomes Thursday cost the Internationals a win. 

 International captain, Greg Norman, praising Baddeley remarked:

“We are extremely proud of the way Aaron Baddeley bounced back from yesterday. I know he was kind of gut-wrenched a little bit by what happened on the 18th, but to see what he did … did him a world of good, did the team a world of good. We’ve got a huge amount of confidence in the room right now.”

Tiger Wood has been quoted as saying that he has met his former caddie Steve Williams who has apologized for directing a racial slur at him on the weekend.

Woods told a media conference ahead of this week's Australian Open that Williams was not a racist, but he did not indicate that he was yet ready to forgive the comment made at a caddies' awards party in Hong Kong, as those were really hurtful.
