Women Undergarments made from 24-Karat GOLD Thread for $6,000

Rich and Royals can afford it - the women undergarments stitched from 24-Karat gold thread for 'just' $6,000.

This novel and most expensive range of women undergarments are designed by former Victoria's Secret designer Breanna Lee, and features gilded bras, underwear and nightgowns that all incorporate the thread, which comes from a special Swiss gold fabric.

The lavish collection, which takes its inspiration from royal women in history including Cleopatra, Marie Antoinette and Tsarina Alexandra, ranges in price from $3,000 to $6,000 for a set.

Each of the lingerie sets bears the name of the woman who inspired it. The Marie Antoinette pieces, for example, come in an all-gold set and a black-on gold set, both with elaborate floral detailing made with the opulent thread.

The extravagant items can only be purchased by private appointment in select boutiques; however the company's sales director, Ilknur Salaun, told the Wall Street Journal that each set ranges in price from $3,000 for gold-on-black lingerie sets, to $6,000 for gold-on--gold ones.

Tightly-structured, thought-provoking and visually appeasing, this unique consonance of fashion and beauty may just prove to be worth it for every bride. Although, day one lacked the glitz and glamour that one expects from a bridal week, simple measures, like an informative ‘Inside Bridal Week’ daily newsletter with make-up tips from the stylist of the day, are proof enough that the PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week (PLBW) has all the elements to be ‘the’ bridal showcase in the country, reports Hani Taha at The Express Tribune.

He's Dressed Five Presidents

[ via Huffington Post ] 16 Dec

Manuel Cuevas, known around Nashville and the music and fashion worlds as simply "Manuel,"  is the man behind the fashinable attire of many a celebrity of their times.
Manuel and the celebrities he dressed
The Nashville designer, known for his exquisite embroidery and use of rhinestones and sequins,  made Elvis Presley's gold lamé suit and his famous white jumpsuit, and he's the man who convinced Johnny Cash to dress in black. His clothes have draped Marilyn Monroe, Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan, and, as he puts it, "three generations of Hank Williamses."

And yet for the dizzying constellation of stars who have stood for a Manuel fitting, he says he has only been genuinely awestruck once. "The Lone Ranger," Manuel says. "When I was growing up in Mexico, I walked an hour each way just to watch The Lone Ranger on television. I wanted to be him. So when I had the opportunity to make his outfit for the show, I was just thrilled to meet him. I didn't know what to say to him."

But what about the five American presidents?

Wear "Milk" !!

Full Story: Yahoo News 16 Nov

Model wearing Qmilch (AP Photo/Michael Sohn)
Wear Milk - You may think I am crazy in suggesting this, but not Anke Domaske, biochemist and fashion designer.

The 28-year-old German is the designer of an award-winning new textile made entirely from milk that's environmentally friendly as well as soothing to people with skin allergies. Called "Qmilch," it drapes and folds like silk, but can be washed and dried like cotton, reports Yahoo.

Currently, apparel depends heavily on byproducts from oil, or natural resources such as water — used in the thousands of liters (gallons) to produce just a bolt of cotton. But Domaske and her team of six has found a process of reducing milk to a protein powder that is then boiled and pressed into strands that can be woven into a fabric. She uses only organic milk that cannot be consumed because it has failed Germany's strict quality standards.

Full Story: Huffington Post

"We were told to wear our skirts to our knees, turtlenecks, cover ourselves and not wear makeup, and not do anything that would draw attention."
But she always did the opposite then and continue to do so now - Read full story
