Four frantic calls to help save dying husband not responded as paramedics were on scheduled break

Fred and Joyce Pring. Mr Pring died at his home, near Mold, after the ambulance turned up late

One may call it height of carelessness and inhuman attitude on the part of London paramedics as the failed to four frantic calls by a 63 years wife, now widow, as her husband, 74, suffered for chest pain for complete one hour before dying right in front of her eyes.

The four calls wasted as paramedics initially refused to attend because they were due a break.

By the time paramedics arrived after more than 50 minutes, it was too late.

Delays in A&E meant paramedics had had to wait up to 99 minutes to hand over patients to hospital staff, and there were no ambulances available.

When a crew was found they refused to attend because they were due a break.

Only when Mrs Pring rang to say her husband had died and her 999 call was flagged at the most serious level did they agree to go to her aid.

British soldiers' suicide rate 'overtakes Afghan deaths'

In a recent revelation, it has been learnt that more British soldiers and veterans have died because of committing suicides than those who died in combat in Afghanistan.

BBC Panorama reports that 21 serving soldiers killed themselves last year (2012), along with 29 veterans, while 44 soldiers died in Afghanistan, of which 40 died in action.

Boston Marathon ripped by Blasts [Graphic Content]

It was a gory ending of the Boston Marathon, the oldest marathon in the world since 1897, when two powerful blasts one after the other near the finish line left two dead and at least 120 injured.

Two blasts ripped through the spectator area near the finish line and it is suspected that the explosive devices contained ball bearings.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility. Reports emerged later that one of the dead was an eight-year-old boy and the youngest injured is believed to be three years old.

According to initial reports, at least ten injured require amputations.

There were chaos and blood all over the place, eye witnesses told.

Roupen Bastajian, a 35-year-old state trooper from Rhode Island, had just finished the race when they put the heat blanket wrap on him and he heard the first blast.

'I started running toward the blast. And there were people all over the floor,' he said. 'We started grabbing tourniquets and started tying legs. A lot of people amputated. At least 25 to 30 people have at least one leg missing, or an ankle missing, or two legs missing.'

A Boston police officer was wheeled from the course with a leg injury that was bleeding.

'There are a lot of people down,' said one man, whose bib No 17528 identified him as Frank Deruyter of North Carolina. He was not injured, but marathon workers were carrying one woman, who did not appear to be a runner, to the medical area as blood gushed from her leg.

While the entire India mourns the death of the 23 years old gang rape victim, it is learnty that three men accused of Delhi rape are not going to plead guilty.

The three include Ram Singh, the driver of the bus, his brother Mukesh and Akshay Singh.

Interestingly, the lawyer representing three of the men charged with the gang rape and murder of a medical student aboard a moving bus in New Delhi has blamed the victims for the assault, saying he has never heard of a “respected lady” being raped in India.

Sharma said the male companion of the murdered 23- year-old was “wholly responsible” for the incident as the unmarried couple should not have been on the streets at night.

In the meanwhile, the attack on the woman and her friend, which led to her death almost two weeks later, forced the government to address demands for swifter justice, safer streets and heavier sentences in rape cases.
