The 800 mies wide storm may hit Britain by Friday.

The winds are likely to speed up on Thursday turning into gales up to 100 mph. A yellow warning has been sounded in Britain.

Britain braces for tons of snowfall and high speed gales this weekend

Britain is always under severe weather - whether it is summer or winters. In summers the Brits witness flash floods and heavy rains and come winter: it is high speed gales and tons of snow.

So this weekend should not be a surprise for people living in many parts of Britain if it gets almost 2 feet of snow (19 inches as predicted). Motorists, especially in northern Scotland face travel chaos this weekend with up to 19in of snow expected by Monday.

Besides, rain warnings are also in place for tomorrow as even more heavy rain threatens to cause localised flooding and winds of up to 70 mph could cause disruptions to Irish Sea and cross-Channel ferry services.

Britain battered by 100mph winds

Winds exceeding 100 mph have a norm rather than exception - remember my post of 2012, which is still the most read post of my blog.

It has been in the past and it is even today as winds of 100mph batter Britain while millions of travellers face disruption on Britain's roads and rail network today while others are counting the cost of damaged homes.

And a HGV was blown over the A1 as the gales swept across the Northern England - while planes have been seen landing sideways.

Dailyt Mail reports that Gales of just under 100mph were measured at Capel Curig in Snowdonia, followed by High Bradfield near Sheffield with 82mph gusts and Weybourne in Norfolk with 76mph winds. Liscombe in Somerset, Avonmouth near Bristol and Northolt in north west London were also among the worst-hit areas, experiencing winds in excess of 60mph.

Gales and ferocious sea batter Britain ahead of a cold and icy weekend

Britain is under a grip of very cold weather with fast blowing gales and a ferocious ea besides Thunder and lightning mix with snow up north.

And that is not the end - the coming weeked would be worse and up to four inches of snow is expected to fall in the frozen North East and Scotland, with ice forming overnight and more disruption expected on transport networks.

A biting wind from Russia, nicknamed the Beast from the East, is making seasonal temperatures of around 5C (41F) feel far colder. Sub-zero temperatures are expected into the weekend, with lows of -5 or -6C forecast for tonight, although the South West could reach 8 or 9C over the next few days.

The rain and wind has battered Beachy Head to the point that it caused three major cliff collapses in a week. One National Trust worker said he had never known erosion as bad as those that happened recently.

While this happens in the north, signs of spring appear in the South West with temperatures reaching 8 or 9C.

Britain's West battered by Atlantic storm

Rain and gales have been battering half of Britain today as the weather took a stormy turn. The west of the country has been the worst hit, with hazardous conditions on the roads, thunderstorms and flash flooding.

But most eastern areas have been spared, and have enjoyed a largely dry and sunny day with just a few scattered showers.

Natural England said spring tides and the storms expected today and over the next two days could cause further problems and warning signs might be washed away.7

Gales and Rains battered Britain warned of rare June Storm

January earlier this year, Britain faced gales up to 106 mph. Now it seems a repetition of the same has already set in with alarms for a bigger storm in June.

Daily Mail reports Thursday that large areas of the UK have been put on alert for heavy rain and gales of up to 70mph today as a rare June storm swept in from the Atlantic.

Downpours at Edgbaston in Birmingham have already delayed the start of the third Test between England and West Indies this morning. 

The Met office has issued an amber weather warning for Wales, South West England, East of England, London and the South East, the West Midlands and the East Midlands Thursday.

The deadly floods and gales with 71mph fury hit England and Wales

Days of heavy rain has caused chaos across much of England and Wales, but the country is braced for further flooding after forecasters predicted more rain to come.

Despite the drought and the hosepipe ban, the Met Office today confirmed this April has been the wettest on record, with 'well above' average rainfall across the UK, with 97mm recorded, or 140 per cent of the long-term monthly average.

The Environment Agency has 35 flooding warnings in place and 139 alerts - many of them in the southwest - after a weekend of downpours and winds up to 71mph.

A man died after his car became completely submerged in water as he tried to cross a ford. A woman was able to escape from the car but her companion was pronounced dead at the scene in Thornford Road, Compton Wood, Hampshire. 

A Mother-of-three was feeding baby in bed when a 300-year-old beech tree fell against her house, leaving five holes in the roof above the bedroom.

Storm Weather demands fatality in Roosdaal

The gales and storm are continuing to batter European countries after the UK. DeMorgen reports of massive damage to Belgium and reports:

"The storms that moved our country today, in Roosdaal a fatal victim. A 64-year-old man had killed when a massive gate four to five meters high fell on him. The man died on the spot. Elsewhere there was a lot of damage and to note there were also two wounded. The strongest gust of wind blew over our country at 122 km per hour was measured in Ernage (Gembloux), in the province of Namur."

Forecast for 6 January: The winds would remain limited to 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and there are some local showers, but in many places it is often dry.

Flying trampoline brings down power cable and kills dog in 100mph gales as Britain braces for fresh storms

Just yesterday, Imposing Headlines had reported the damage due to recent fast gales that hit Britain. The gales were so strong that the water of a water fall was seen being blown upwards.


Now as the gales continue to batter the country, a dog has been reported killed in a bizarre accident during 100mph winds after a trampoline was blown into a power line, knocking it down and plunging it into a waterlogged back yard.

Rosie, a Border Collie, was in Dick Pritchard's back yard in Boderdern, near Holyhead, when she was electrocuted.

The father-of-two said that a gust lifted the trampoline from a garden two doors down and onto his neighbour's roof. The trampoline became entangled in the power line and a man from next door climbed up to lower it from the cable and chimney despite Mr Pritchard's warnings that it could be live. Fortunately the neighbour was unharmed.

Mr Pritchard then took his sons, Aron, 15 and Iwan, nine, to school but when he returned he let the family pet out and she stood in a puddle.

After Britain Gales, it is Germany and Belgium to be hit by Hurricane Andrea

Yesterday Imposing Headlines reported about the gusty gales that battered Britain and took a heavy toll of trees and sign boards. The gales were so strong that even a water fall was seen having its water blown up.

But now the weather is geting more roublesome for the rest of the Europe too. As reported by DeMorgen, a new super storm is likey to hit Germany today with the force of a hurricane: Andrea has mainly targeted on Germany, but also to our alarm beaten coast. Moreover danger in much of Europe flooding. Countries in the Alpe take them back to the breath for a real snowstorm.

Experts fear that Hurricane Andrea can be as bad as Kyrill, the hurricane that Germany five years ago collapsed into chaos. 

Andrea may cause flooding in Belgium. After midnight and today morning the super storm Andrea will plague Belgium. On the coast, it KMI expects gusts up to 105 km / h. In the north of the country's 100 km / h and in the center to 95 km / h and peak gusts possible. Moreover, many rainfall: up to 25 mm of rain between midnight and Thursday. This can cause local flooding.

Britain battered by 106mph gales: It was so windy the waterfall ran uphill

Winds of up to 106mph battered Britain yesterday, bringing death and destruction as many returned to work after the Christmas holidays.
