Israeli moon landing ambition crashes

It has been reported that Israel's spacecraft heading for a moon landing has crashed just before the final landing due to engine failure and has  apparently crashed onto the lunar surface.

"We didn't make it, but we definitely tried," project originator and major backer Morris Kahn said in a live video-cast from mission control near Tel Aviv.

It may be added that just before the landing attempt, the Israeli PM Netanyahu had boasted that he was thinking about initiating a national space project.

Russian official doubts America's 1969 Moon Landing

A Russian official Vladimir Markin has expressed his serious reservations about the much trumpeted 1969 moon landing and asked for an investigation into the claims.



It may be interesting to note that the original landing tapes, that should have been preserved at all costs as history, have been erase by NASA as in 2009, NASA said that it it probably erased its only high resolution images of the first moonwalk to make room for electronic data from a satellite.

It means the only original pictures that remain from the mission are the snowy, grainy images of Neil Armstrong's 'giant leap for mankind'.

Neil Armstrong to be buried at sea

It has been decided by the family of the famed astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man to have landed on the moon, to be buried at sea. It is however not known that this 'One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind' decision had anything to do with the will of the dead astronaut.

The family of the Navy fighter pilot-turned-astronaut however did not specify where exactly they intend to have that service. 

Given the fact that Armstrong made his name by being the first man to walk on the moon, the choice to be laid to rest at the depths of the ocean may seem odd, but the practice is common for veterans of the Navy.
