Sterlize Muslims and Christians, says Hardliner Hindu Extremest Leader

To the world, Indians project India as a progressive secular state, giving equal rights to all religions and people. But from Inside, India is the most racist, atrocious and extremist country.

In an on going hate campaign against Muslims, to which Christians have also been included now, a hardliner Hindu extremist leader is quoted as saying to sterilize the Muslims and Christians to check their population growth in India.

Vice president of All India Hindu Mahasabha, Sadhvi Deva Thakur told reporters in Jind that "Centre will have to impose emergency, and Muslims and Christians will have to be forced to undergo sterilization so that they can't increase their numbers."

It may be recalled that earlier another extremist Hindu leader and chief minister of a province had called upon his followers to dig out Muslim women from their graves and rape them. Read details

Canada displays unique solidarity with Muslims

In a time when US president Donald Trump is hellbent on imposing entry of Muslims from seven Muslim countries - and God knows how many more countries will be added to the banned list, Canada has come forward and his displayed a unique solidarity with the Muslims.

In a rare and moving show of strength, the Canadians of the Quebec city joined hands with their local politicians and the Canadian prime minister Trudeau to show solidarity and sympathy to the Muslims after a terrorist attack on a local mosque.

Trudeau is speech on the occasion said:

"Our country was united. It is an entire country that is joining the families of the victims.  Together, we will rise from this darkness stronger, more unified, than ever before."

Muslim Imam shot dead by lone gunman - Thanks to Trump's hate campaign against Muslims

In a broad daylight in Queens - new York, USA a lone gunman shot dead Imam of a local mosque and one other on 13 August.

Five shots were fired by the gunman carrying a long barrel gun.

Local Muslims attributed the incident to US presidential Donald Trump hate campaign against Islamophobia which has already drawn svere criticism from the Muslim community of America.

Muslim Eid festival cancelled in London due to rising racial tensions after Brexit vote

The recent BrExit vote out of European Union has started telling its negative effects, specially for the Muslims living in the UK. It has been announced that the annual Muslim central prayer to celebrate has been cancelled due to rising racial tensions following Brexit vote in London.

It was estimated that approximately 2,000 people were to gather in East Park, Southampton, but due to Far-right groups that threatened to hold protest in the city following Brexit vote, it has been decided to cancel the event.

This is one such announcement so far - it is feared that many other events may also be cancelled.

It may be added that a number of groups such as pro-refugee organisation Refugees Welcome and anti-fascist group Southampton AntiFa held a counter-demonstration in the same area on Saturday.

Muslims under attack in USA

The 13 November killing drama has had its serious repercussions on the Muslims of the world, specially in France and USA - aggravated by the presidential candidate Donald Trump. Today a Muslim woman was nearly shot Thursday as she left a Florida mosque, and another woman was nearly run off the road, reports Raw Story.

Reportedly, Someone fired at least one gunshot at the woman as she drove away from the mosque in east Tampa, near Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Many Muslims say anti-Muslim hysteria in U.S. is worse than they’ve ever seen.

Another Muslim woman reported a man threw rocks and other items at her and tried to run her off the road as she drove away from a mosque in New Tampa.

It may be added that Muslims around the nation have faced violence, threats and harassment since the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris, and Muslims in the Tampa area feared the backlash would grow worse after last week’s mass shooting in San Bernardino.

Filipino Muslim's call for prayer stuns Saudis

Saudis take pride in the call for prayer (Azan) by Sheikh Mohammed Mulla, the famous muezzin of the Grand Mosque in Makkah and everyday the high pitched call for prayer not only fascinates worshippers in Makkah but the world over wherever the call for prayers is aired.

But does that mean that only an Arabic speaking can have this fascinating and all-appealing voice? 


Well you will be surprised that a Filipino Muslim has surprised, rather stunned, many including the Saudis when his call for prayer was heard from the Hamza bin Muttalib mosque in Al-Uraija district, west of Riyadh. The imam of the mosque even invited journalists to listen to the Muslim expat's amazing call to worship.

In fact it was the Imam of the Hamza bin Muttalib mosque who heard this Filipino and invited him to call the worshippers for prayer for he thought this voice was so very close to that at Makkah.

Let it burn - Tweets a Texan as Islamic Centre burns to ashes

Is America set to become a hate-place for its Muslims community? Well incidents that have started to take place recently indicate to a bigger storm coming.

When the Quba Islamic Institute was put on fire in an arson drama using accelerant, Texas man allegedly said on social media that a Houston Islamic center should burn down.

According to the The Daily Kos, Herron wrote on social media 'Let it burn...block the fire hydrant' reports the Daily Mail.

The Daily Kos reported that Herron is a Crystal Beach Volunteer Fire Department (CBVFD) volunteer.

Narendra Modi, a hardliner of India’s BJP has become the new Indian prime minster with land slide victor over the ruling Congress Party – but he has blood on his hands of thousands of Muslims when he was chief minister of Gujrat.

An attack on a train what killed 59 passengers in Gujrat 12 years back, sparked vicious retribution against local Muslims. The Hindu mobs went on the rampage, raping hundreds of women and burning children after pouring kerosene down their throats.

Men were forced to watch their families tortured to death, and then they too were slaughtered. About 2,000 people died and 200,000 made homeless over three nightmarish days.Despite pleas for protection, Muslims were ignored by officials.

Now the same man is the new Indian prime minister and there are many concerns about his treatment to the Indian Muslims and relations with neighboring Pakistan. 

Modi was banned from entering the US and shunned by British diplomats. How would the British and US government feel now entertaining a prime minister of biggest democracy of the world with blood on his hands?

US blind to faults in dealing with Muslims: China Daily

Many believe that the beauty of the US political system is its ability to self-correct. Things that go awry will ultimately be put right, these people say.

But looking back over the past decade, it's clear that if there ever was such a mechanism, it is no longer working and that there remains a dearth of needed self-criticism.

This was brought into sharp focus when protests against the United States erupted in Egypt and Libya over a week ago, leading to the death of the US ambassador to Tripoli, Christopher Stevens. Anti-US demonstrations and riots have since spread throughout the Muslim world, ostensibly triggered by the anti-Islam movie The Innocence of Muslims.

US officials, along with pundits and journalists, keep repeating the mantra that the majority of people in the Middle East and the Islamic world welcome Americans. US media outlets have frequently cited Stevens' words that Americans, French and British "are enjoying unusual popularity".

Soothing words are nice, but a survey by the Pew Global Attitudes Project found that in many predominantly Muslim nations, there is considerable anger directed at US policies and Americans themselves. This explains why there have been such strong, widespread protests over the past 10 days.

Rohingya Muslims "persecuted" after Myanmar crackdown

Myanmar security forces killed, raped or carried out mass arrests of Rohingya Muslims after deadly sectarian riots in the northeast in June, a rights group said on Wednesday, adding the authorities had done little to prevent the initial unrest.

Aid workers were blocked and in some cases arrested, and Rohingyas bore the brunt of a government crackdown in Rakhine state after a week of arson and machete attack by both ethnic Rakhine Buddhists and Rohingyas, New York-based Human Rights Watch said in a report.

Based on 57 interviews with Rakhines and Rohingyas, the report seeks to shed light on a conflict that exposed deep-rooted communal animosity and put the spotlight on promises by the civilian government in office since 2011 to protect human rights after decades of brutal army rule.

UN envoy in Burma amid Muslim crackdown

The United Nations expert on human rights in Burma has arrived in Myanmar, days after the UN voiced fears that efforts to end unrest in Rakhine state had turned into a crackdown on Muslims.

UN Special Rapporteur Tomas Ojea Quintana flew into the main city of Rangoon late on Sunday for a visit set to include a trip to the restive western state as well as meetings with Burma's president and civil society.

It comes after a warning by UN human rights chief Navi Pillay that Muslim communities in Rakhine, particularly the Rohingya minority, were being targeted by security forces.

"We have been receiving a stream of reports from independent sources alleging discriminatory and arbitrary responses by security forces, and even their instigation of and involvement in clashes," she said in a statement on Friday.

UN finally turns towards atrocities against Muslims in Myanmar

The United Nations spotlight has finally fell on Myanmar. By taking note of human rights excesses and killings of Muslims in the Southeast Asian country, the world body has made a decent beginning.

This is a welcome development after a prolonged criminal silence over the mayhem that the Buddhist population was unleashing over the Muslim minority in Rohingya. The UN human rights chief Navi Pillay’s institution of an independent investigation to probe into the abuses that has seen hundreds of Muslims slaughtered and more than 80,000 displaced in Rakhine state should get to its logical conclusion. 

The silence and aloofness of the democrats, including Noble laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, has literally disappointed not only the Burmese but also the world at large. It is high time she comes out of her self-carved domain of political and ethnic exigency and speaks out in favour of the discriminated community.

Muslims Worried About Fate of Burma's Rohingyas Muslims

uslim groups worldwide are increasing pressure on the Burmese government to stop human rights abuses committed against ethnic Rohingya Muslims. 

The plight of the technically stateless group in Burma's western Rakhine state has long been a concern of the global Muslim community. But attention has intensified in recent weeks after longstanding tensions erupted between the Rohingya and ethnic Rakhine Buddhists, leaving dozens dead and tens of thousands displaced.

Rights groups such as Amnesty International say Rohingyas are the victims of state-sanctioned violence and discrimination in a country that has a long history of mistreating ethnic minorities.

Amnesty decries abuses against Myanmar Muslims

Myanmar security forces have committed serious rights abuses against Muslims in violence-hit western Rakhine state during six weeks of emergency rule, Amnesty International said on Friday.

Hundreds of people, mostly men and boys, have been detained in sweeps of areas heavily populated by the Muslim Rohingya group, with almost all held incommunicado and some ill-treated, it said.

“In six weeks, Myanmar has not only added to a long litany of human rights violations against the Rohingya, but has also done an about-turn on the situation of political imprisonment,” said Amnesty researcher Benjamin Zawacki. While communal violence appears to have eased since the unrest erupted in early June, violations by the security forces have increased, he said.

France's Hollande: Tough line on Muslim customs

French presidential front-runner Francois Hollande says he would not allow separate menus in public cafeterias or separate hours in swimming pools for men and women to satisfy demands of the Muslim community.

Hollande, the Socialist facing off against conservative President Nicolas Sarkozy in Sunday's presidential election runoff, also said he would firmly support France's ban on the face-covering Islamic veils.

Hollande said if he is elected president, "I will apply the law" on the face veils. He said different swimming pool hours "will not be tolerated."

Sarkozy also has criticized demands for special treatment from France's large Muslim community.

Dutch design challenges Fifa's football hijab ban

New design of Hijab for Muslim Girls

A Dutch designer has created a hijab aimed at convincing the world football governing body Fifa to overturn its ban on women wearing headscarves on the pitch.

Players were prevented from wearing the hijab at top levels of the game for safety reasons, and because of rules stating that religious symbols were not allowed.

Critics say the ban promotes inequality at the highest level of the world's most popular game.

The hijab designer Cindy van den Bremen says the hijab's design makes it safe and comfortable:

"What makes Capsters unique is the ready-made design, so you don't need knots or pins to tie it around your head. And it's made in stretchable materials so it's a very comfortable hijab."

French premier reaches out to Jews, Muslims

France's prime minister scrambled Wednesday to dispel concerns in the Jewish and Muslim communities after criticizing the ritual slaughter of animals for kosher and halal meat.

Halal meat in particular has emerged as a hot-button issue in the campaign for presidential elections starting next month in France, a country with at least 5 million Muslims, the largest such population in western Europe.

Francois Fillon's call for religions to "reflect" upon what he called outdated traditions has fed a hyper-charged political atmosphere. 

But for many, Fillon's comments went too far. He hosted Jewish leaders Wednesday and was expected to meet with Muslim leaders Thursday in what appeared to be an attempt to ease concerns about his comments on French radio this week.

New York Times harshly criticize the NYPD's Muslim surveillance program

The New York Times harshly criticized the NYPD's Muslim surveillance program in a Sunday editorial, while taking particular aim at Mayor Michael Bloomberg for his full-throated defense of the department amid concerns about violations of civil liberties.

Bloomberg, the Times editorial board wrote, "has reacted in the worst possible way -- with disdain -- to those raising legitimate questions about the surveillance program."

The Associated Press has been reporting on the NYPD's secret Muslim surveillance program since August, revealing a post-9/11 strategy for combating terrorism that included blanket surveillance of where Muslims eat, shop and pray. In more than three dozen articles, the AP's knocked down early claims by the NYPD and Bloomberg that officers were only following legitimate leads of possible criminal activity. The surveillance, according to primary documents obtained by the AP, was far more widespread than initially suggested.

France’s Green presidential hopeful raised heckles across the political spectrum Tuesday by suggesting that France should honour Muslim and Jewish festivals as well as Christian ones, by according them a national holiday.

Currently six of the 12 national holidays in France are Catholic calendar events, with the other six having no religious connotation.

Speaking in Paris on Wednesday at her first campaign rally, Green presidential candidate Eva Joly argued that national holiday status should be accorded to the Muslim festival of Eid-ul-Fitr and the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur.
