Nike Suspends contract with Blade Runner involved in Girfriend murder on Valentine Day

As a consequence of the murder accusation on the 'hero' blade runner Oscar Pistorius, one of the major investment and industrial giant Nike Inc. has suspended its contract with Oscar Pistorius.

"We believe Oscar Pistorius should be afforded due process and we will continue to monitor the situation closely," Nike said in a brief statement posted on its website Wednesday.

It may be recalled that Nike also cancelled its contract with disgraced syclist Lance Armstrong in October 2012 for his involvement in doping and misleading the company about those activities for more than a decade. 

Following Nike suit, eye-wear maker Oakley Inc. has also suspended its contract with Pistorius.

Nokia: The fallen hero

When Apple unveiled its first touch-screen iPhone in June 2007, then Nokia Chief Executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo simply underestimated the impact of its release saying, ``What we decide is the global standard.’’ This was the beginning of the Finnish firm's fiasco.

His remark illustrates how Nokia’s influence and confidence was great back then in the phone making business. Nokia, once the handset titan and ``the pride of Finland’’ is falling. It ended its 14-year leadership in the entire mobile phone industry in the first quarter of this year. Rather, Korea’s Samsung Electronics has risen to the top in the industry globally.

Standard and Poor’s (S&P) has downgraded Nokia’s credit rating to BB minus. It also cut Nokia’s short-term credit rating to B from A-3. Moody’s has also slashed its credit rating to near junk status.

Nokia in trouble to the extent of Bankruptcy

Nokia just blew its first quarter earnings, in part because sales of its new iPhone-killer, the Lumia, have been "mixed." (Read our Lumia review here.)

Nokia still has €4.9 billion of "net cash" on its balance sheet (cash less debt) and €9.8 billion of total cash. That's a lot. But in the past year, Nokia has gone from comfortably making money to losing a lot of it.

Apple Along With Nokia And RIM Might Have Provided Backdoor Access To Indian Intelligence

According to a report by ZDNet, Apple along with Nokia, RIM are claimed to have allegedly built a backdoor access which allows Indian Intelligence agencies to spy on exposed communication trails.

Software security company Symantec had recently been hacked by a group of Indian hackers called Lords of Dharamraja and they using their intellect also hacked other number of targets which included the Indian Military servers and from there they retrieved some documents which contains some interesting info.

The Race to "The Great Indoors" begins

If someone asks any big name in the mobile phones "what is the new trend in maps?" - the answer will be the The Great Indoors. And that is what Nokia, Google and Ericsson are after. The race is on for the Great Indoors.

On Tuesday, Google introduced the latest version of its maps for Android, which will include detailed layouts for Ikea, Macy's, and 18 U.S. airports. 

Then yesterday, Nokia announced that it will be offering its own version of indoor maps using Bluetooth 4.0 as the technology. The mapping is 30 centimeter accurate and can even warn you if you forget your belonging.

Nokia Lumia 800 may be the best Windows Phone ever !!

People say Nokia makes great hardware, but terrible software. And the review by POPSCI says that Lumia, Nokia's first Windows Phone may perhaps be the best Windows Phone once people get to know it. The reviewers longs: Bring this phone to America, Please!!

This phone isn't new, exactly. It has previously existed as the Nokia N9, a thoroughly odd outlier of a phone that may be the only phone to ever use the MeeGo operating system. It uses Windows Phone 7.5, with a few Nokia-centric additions like Nokia Maps, Nokia Music, and Nokia Drive (turn-by-turn navigation). 

But mostly, what's new is some solid hardware for Windows Phone.
