Panda flown in business class from China to America

What if instead of a human passenger a giant Panda walks in and sit next to you in your flight from China to America?

Would you be scared to hell or just sit next to the Panda calmly reading a newspaper or chatting on your laptop?

Panda express! A hoax photo of this panda bear seen allegedly flying business class on a China Airlines flight to the U.S. has circulated around the world to thousands of views and shares online

Well recently, a shocking photograph of a panda bear flying business class on a China Airlines fight has been shared by thousands of mesmerized and astonished viewers online.

'When you look at this photo you might assume that you’re seeing a man on an airplane seated beside a big plush panda. But guess what, that’s not a toy. That’s a real live panda cub and he’s flying first class,' website Geyser of Awesome posted with the photo on Saturday.

The photo carried the report: 'China Airlines is a proud corporate sponsor of the panda sanctuary at Chengdu and was happy to help out recently with the transfer of a young panda cub to a zoo in the United States of America,' a dually-circulating hoax press release by China Airlines reads with the picture.

But what those believers of the bunch failed to realize, the panda wasn't real.

The male cub, which had not been named, was just six days old and was found lying on its back on its mother's chest.

It was the first time the zoo's natural breeding programme had been successful, and the birth had been widely celebrated across Japan.

The cub's parents, Shin Shin and Ri Ri, arrived on loan from China last year. Tokyo pays $1m (£640,000) a year to lease them.
Seven-year-old Shin Shin gave birth just days after being declared pregnant. The arrival was the first in the zoo for more than 20 years.

China to release six pandas into wild

[ via Google News ] 22 Dec

Six captive-bred pandas will be freed into an enclosed forest in southwestern China next year in the first mass release of the highly endangered animals, the official Xinhua news agency said Wednesday.
It said the six, aged two to four, had been chosen from 108 captive-bred animals at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, and researchers believed the mass release would increase their chances of survival.

A total of 10 pandas have been individually released since 1983, it said, but only two remain in the wild, with the breeding centre taking six back after they lost weight, one found dead and the other also believed to have died.
