The British Prime Minister David Cameron says:
British-flagged merchant ships sailing the Horn of Africa will be authorized to carry armed guards to ward off pirates.
It may be recalled that sea pirates from war torn Somalia move freely in waters close to Somalia and Horn of Africa, plunder merchant ships and take crew hostages for huge ransoms. Now under the proposed law, weapons use would be permitted in the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea.
