Aircraft slams into Superstition Mountains

A small airplane "Twin Commander aircraft, owned by Ponderosa Aviation of Saffordwith three men and three young children onboard crashed Wednesday evening into rugged peaks of mile-high Superstition Mountains 40 miles east of downtown Phoenix.

The body of one child was recovered and "it is not hopeful" there are any survivors because of the nature of the crash and explosion. The children were going from Arizona to Mesa to meet their mother for Thanksgiving.
