The Universities in UK entertaining foreign students have expressed their surprise at the wisdom of applying curbs on student visas. It has been reported that there is a drop of some 11,000 overseas students since the curbs, which may adversely harm the education sector as some 450 colleges may pull out of the market being economically not-viable.
Nicola Dandridge of Universities UK, said:
Britain could not afford to make the same costly mistakes as the US and Australia which both curbed overseas students numbers and then dropped the policy when they realised it had seriously damaged the international competitiveness of their higher education sector.
