Lower Back Pain: Who to Believe - Yoga or Conventional Treatment

Awhile ago, a report was published in Mail Online (26 October) saying "Yoga may not give you a mental lift... and it's 'no better for easing back pain than simple stretching." Now today another news says at The Guardian (31 October) "Yoga may work better for lower back pain than conventional treatments - Patients with lower back pain who did yoga showed bigger improvements in their ability to perform everyday physical tasks."

Now this is disturbing. Two leading dailies offering views at tangent to each other. Lower back pain is serious thing, and playing with it with Yoga or Conventional Methods could be dangerous if research is so inconclusive as can be seen from above two contradictions.

People suffering from lower back pain be warned not to follow the findings of the two studies above unless specifically advised by their doctors or any such home-remedies be undertaken strictly under qualified medical supervision.
