Major Psychological Trauma and Irritable Bowel Syndrome are Interrelaed

A study by Mayo Clinic researchers has concluded Monday that major psychological trauma may increase chances of incidence of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). These psychological trauma may include divorce physical or mental abuse, surveying  a disaster or death of near or dear one.

The study was presented at a conference and not yet published in a peer-reviewed journal, so it should be considered preliminary.
