Safari Dominates Customers - Android Gains Ground

although the race is on between Apple's Safari and Microsoft's Android, market and user trends so far indicate theta Safari is dominating, while Android is gaining ground. A survey spanned over December 21010-October 2011 shows Safari browsers rose from 49.17% to 62.17%, while Android saw a very modest increase from  11.5% to 18.65% in the same period.

There is a catch here - The Safari figures This figure, however, includes not only the Apple iPhone, but the iPad and the iPod Touch, as well. Netmarketshare did not break down the percentages for the three device types. Whereas Android's rise in the mobile browser market can be attributed almost entirely to smartphones, as Android-based tablets have not exactly set the market on fire.
