Djokovic and Azarenka crowned at Beijing

World no.2 Serbian Novak Djokovic finally wins an ATP ranked tournament - the Beijing Open 2012 at Beijing Sunday today.

Novak Djokovic beat French Tsonga 7(7)-6(4), 6-2 and finally won a trophy. Djokovic who won the only Grand Slam this year, i.e. the Australian Open early this year, has been striving to win another Grand Slam - but each time luck failed him.

Novak tried his luck with all his stream and force in the US Open against Olympic Gold Medalist British Andy Murray, but despite a very tough match spread over five sets, his luck did not favour him and lost.

The win today at Beijing China must be refreshing for the Serbian.

As for the ladies singles, the luck did not favour world no.2 Russian Maria Sharapova, who too could not win any Grand Slam except the French Open this year. She reached many finals, but was defeated. Contesting and fighting against world no.1 Victoria Azarenka from Belarus again proved a hard luck as Sharapova lost 6-3, 6-2. Sharapova made a faint effort in the second set to win two games in the end, but Azarenka did not allow the Russian to show more zeal and won the set 6-2.

So for now it is Djokovic and Azarenka the kings and queens of Beijing.
