As per the latest world tennis ranking, Roger Federer is back to world no 1 position with 8670 points. He pushes back Rafael Nadal to no. 2 position with 7950 points, fell in the quarterfinals of last week's Mutua Madrid Open.
Nadal, who won the Masters 1000 event in Madrid last year, needed to defend all of his champion’s points to hang onto the ATP tour's top spot, but those hopes were cut short by a 7-5, 6-3 loss to Dominic Thiem.
On the contrary, Federer who hasn't played any match since March this year, climbed up to replace Nadal. it is unfortunate to find Novak Djokovic who is not there even in the first five position. He is at no. 18th position with mere 1905 points - which means he is seemingly done for for any top ranking positions in future.
