Perhaps it is the season of finding lost marine vessels. Awhile ago a vessel of Kublai Khan's Lost Fleet was found off the coast of Nagasaki, Japan. Now it is Japan's WW-II sunk submarine, probably a Midget, which has been found off Papua and New Guinea.

The wreck was found partially buried in the seabed, 180 feet (55 meters) below the water surface of a Papua New Guinea harbor during a search for unexploded munitions. The sub wreck was found by an Australia and New Zeland military team.
