Pakistan, which had not even recovered form massive floods that swept millions of houses in 2010, was hit again this year from massive monsoon rains, specially in its southerly Sind province. Now aid agencies warn of acute shortfall of relief goods and cash to rehabilitate the devastated flood affectees.
Officials in Sindh say that at least four of the province's 22 districts still remain under water., while about 70% of Sindh's crops in 13 districts have been destroyed.
BBC reports quoting Oxfam, Save the Children, Care and the French agency, Acted, that more than nine million people are at risk of disease and malnutrition. The relief groups warn they may have to curtail their relief operations unless donors provide more money soon.
