Protesters boo British PM and blame Tory cuts for the fire that killed dozens

The horrible fire at the Grenfell Tower that killed over 70 people have brought families of those killed on streets who booed the British PM May when she tried to visit them.

The Prime Minister failed to address people demanding a response to the devastating fire and was heavily cordoned by police.

The protesters were heard shouting 'May must go' as they blame Tory cuts for the fire that killed more than 70 people mostly by complete burns and suffocation.

Deaths occurred due to inadequate fire fighting arrangements that could extinguish fire on tall buildings like the Grenfell Tower. The firefighters are seen extinguishing fire with water hoses that barely reached the lower few stories of the ill fated tower which was completely consumed by fire.

It may be added that the bitterly contested battle had seen Mr Goldsmith and David Cameron repeatedly raise Mr Khan's ties to extremists.

Jemima, sister of Zac Goldsmith has congratulated Sadiq Khan by saying: She added: 'Congratulations to Sadiq Khan - 1st Muslim Mayor of London- a city for all cultures, backgrounds & religions. A great example to young Muslims.'

In the meanwhile, a 67-year-old man and woman, understood to be married, were arrested in Lambeth and later bailed until January.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hyland, from the Metropolitan Police's human trafficking unit, said: "This is the very early stages of a complicated and sensitive investigation.

"These women are highly traumatised, having been held in servitude for at least 30 years with no real exposure to the outside world, and, trying to find out exactly what has happened over three decades will understandably take some time."

Shahid Nazir to 'sell' One Pound Fish at Le Grand Journal show in Paris

Muhammad Shahid Nazir, the One Pound Fish fame solo singer is going to France to sell Fish for One Pound at the annual Le Grand Journal show in Paris.

Although Shahid Nazir left for his home country Pakistan from UK in December, where he earned the fame in London selling fish, he is hopeful that he will get UK visa so that he continue to warm up the hearts of his countless fans there. Shahid was given a warm welcome at Lahore Air Port on his arrival, garlanded with fresh roses and carried on shoulders to the car parking from the air port terminal. Even ion his hometown, the children who do not understand a word of English are seen singing 'One Pound Fish' in the streets.

Already, several columns have been written and many leading commentators questioning why the government was quick in sending a singer out of the country, who brought smiles and joy to millions of people near Christmas 2012, while convicted terror radicals such as Jordanian Abu Qatada and many other convicts continued to enjoy Britain’s hospitality.

Reportedly, Shahid Nazir, who has become a household name in Britain, has been quoted as saying:
“I am going to appear in France’s biggest show. It’s anyone’s dream to appear in this show but I believe it’s Allah’s special blessing that I have been given visa without any hesitation. France has shown respect to my country and I am thankful to the French authorities for being kind towards me and allowing me a chance to meet my French fans.”
Shahid Nazir’s song has been watched by nearly 12 million people so far and everyday more than 200,000 people are watching the official song. Warner Music Group has released a slick new music video for ‘One Pound Fish’ replete with scantily-clad video babes, a pounding beat, and maybe a little bit of auto-tune, just for good measure.

It is believed Warner Music is making arrangements to take Nazir to America where he will duet with the likes of Timberland and other rap music stars.

Cameron to take Putin to Olympic judo

The British PM Prime Minister David Cameron will hold discussions Thursday in London with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but appears likely to focus on boosting trade, rather than anger over Moscow's sheltering of Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime from tougher international action.
With relations thawing since the end of a five-year freeze on top-level contacts between Britain and Russia, Cameron also is planning to take Putin to London's Olympic Park to see matches in the Russian leader's beloved judo competition.
The visit by Putin, an honorary president of the International Judo Federation, will be his first to Britain since he was reinstalled as Russia's chief in May and follows talks with Cameron on the sidelines of May's G-20 meeting in Mexico.

London Olympics: Only British dormitories have air conditioning

While the traffic mismanagement has already shown its true face during the full dress rehearsal Wednesday night, when the out pour of spectators from the stadium took many hours to clear and reach back home, there are other issues that are emerging as well.

Although the face of Olympic Village is spectacular, what goes inside is another story. The athletes are complaining of lack of air conditioning in their camps and in what is clearly being called an unfair advantage to the home team, only British dormitories have any air conditioning.

American athlete Lolo Jones complains: "No air conditioners. Its HOT in the rooms. No need to practice, just lay in ur bed & sweat. Where are the applications for Winter Olympics?"

Big Ben to be renamed after Queen Elizabeth II

Britain's famous parliament clock tower is to be renamed Elizabeth Tower in honour of the queen's diamond jubilee, officials announced on Tuesday. The change comes after dozens of lawmakers signed up to a campaign to change the name of the tower -- officially named the Clock Tower , commonly known as Big Ben -- in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's 60th year on the throne.

Big Ben to be Elizabeth Tower
Big Ben is technically the name of the huge bell at the top of the 96-metre (316-foot) tower, one of London's best-loved landmarks.
"The House of Commons Commission welcomed the proposal to rename the Clock Tower Elizabeth Tower in recognition of HM The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and will arrange for this decision to be implemented in an appropriate manner in due course," a spokesman said.

Wimbledon Day 1: Djokovic, Federer and Sharapova move to 2nd round - Venus Williams Goes Home

The Day -1 at Wimbledon saw easy going for most of the players except one set back: the ouster of Venus Williams.

But let us first talk of the easy wins - World no.1 and defending champion Serbian Djokovic beat
Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 6-1 on the Centre Court.

After the men's singles, Roland Garros winner and world no.1 Russian Maria Sharapova defeated Australian Anastasia Rodionova 6-2, 6-3.

On No.1 Court, world no.3 Swiss Roger Federer, who is eyeing the Wimbledon trophy for the seventh times, eased into the second round Albert Ramos of Spain 6-1, 6-1, 6-1.

And now comes the biggest set back of the day. American Venus Williams, though put in some reistance, was not able to tame the Russian Elena Vesnina who beat Williams 6-1, 6-3. Venus was also ousted from the second round of Roland Garros. But ouster from first round must have been very heavy for the American, who her sister Serena claimed was in good form.

In other matches, 11th ranked Chinese Na Li defeated kazakhistan's Ksenia Pervak 6-3, 6-1 and 18th ranked French Richard Gasquet defeated German Tobias Kamke 6-2, 6-2,6-2.

Lost Polar Bear walks past Whitehall

You won't believe this but it actually happened - a big white polar bear wandered around London and even walked past the smartly turned guards of the Whitehall - harmlessly.

Which way is North? The bear-suited campaigner appears to ask a policeman for directions in front of Big Ben

The Arctic animal shocked tourists and passers-by as well as the Household Calvary by lingering between the capital's iconic red phone boxes and strolling casually past the Houses of Parliament.

But this was not simply a stray who had wandered too far from home - it was a puppet commissioned as part of a global Greenpeace campaign to protect the freezing North.
