5th Generation Sukhoi Fighter Plane makes maiden landing at Moscow

Fifth generation Sukhoi PAK FA T-50 fighter jet made its maiden landing at the  M.M.Gromov Flight Research Institute’s airfield in Zhukovsky near Moscow, reports Russian Aviation.

The flight of the aircraft was performed with three intermediate stopovers from Komsomolsk-on-Amur, production location of these aircraft at the Y.A.Gagarin (KnAAZ) aviation plant. 

The aircraft will join the flight tests in Zhukovsky. Currently there are four 5th — generation fighter aircraft undergoing these tests. Two more planes are involved in ground tests — one as a complex ground stand and the other undergoes static tests.

Deadly blaze hits Moscow market

At least 17 people have been killed by a fire that swept through a market warehouse in southern Moscow. 

The victims were migrant workers from former Soviet states, according to the city fire department.

The two-storey building was being used as living quarters for the market vendors, who had no direct access from their room to the street.

The fire at Kachalovsky market came hours after a blaze at a skyscraper in Moscow, in which no-one was hurt.

'Lenin in Moscow' poses for photos

Adjusting the worker's cloth cap on his bald head, Lenin set off at a brisk pace across the dark-gray cobblestones of Red Square, trailed by Nicholas II, who shouldered a flag emblazoned with the double-headed eagle, the emblem of Russia's emperors.

The dvoiniki, or impersonators of historical figures, got down to business. Price of a souvenir snapshot with them: 100 rubles, or about $3.
