Hong Kong actress Jacqueline Law dies from cancer

Hong Kong actress Jacqueline Law dies from pancreatic cancer, announced her stepson Daryl Saturday 30 June. She was 45.

Unable to comment further due to restrictions from his father, Singaporean magnate Liu Chee Ming, who married Jacqueline in 2008 after dating her for 11 years, he could only add, "Please look out for the obituary."
In February, Law held a farewell party for herself with 20 of her friends from Hong Kong, including Sheren Tang, Monica Chan and Kitty Lai. Each of them received a CD with individual messages from their host, urging them not to be sad about her terminal illness. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2010.

Driving in Singapore: When height, not age, would matter

Come the new year, height, and not age, will determine whether your child has to be in child restraints or use booster seat cushions or adjustable seat belts while travelling in a car, the Singapore Police announced Friday.

The change, which kicks in on Jan 1 but will only be enforced from February, affects anyone below 1.35m tall - even adults. Current rules, which came into force in 1992, stipulate that anyone above the age of eight can use normal seat belts.



Drivers who fail to ensure their passengers adhere to the new rule face a composition fine of S$120 and will be docked three demerit points.

Singapore fun marathon

KENYAN elite runners again dominated the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) Sunday, sweeping the men's and women's open categories for the second year running.

The SCMS took a record 65,000 participants through the iconic sights of Singapore, including Chinatown, Universal Studios Singapore, Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Bay area before finishing at the Padang.
