The Indian first ever Grand Prix or the F1 started at the Buddha International Circuit Sunday outside the Indian capital. Not forgetting IndyCar 500 winner Dan Wheldon and Italian MotorGP rider Marco Simoncelli, who died one after the other on track, there was a minute silence observed before the inaugural race could start.
As fr the winner, it was none other than Red Bull's double world champion Sebastian Vettel, who goes down in the history of the Buddha International Circuit as its first winner. While he sprayed champagne, he was both happy and nostalgic:-
"It is the first grand prix in India and I am very proud to be the first winner and I think we can be as a team but on the other hand looking back....we lost two of our mates."
