The ongoing workers' strike has compelled Qantas Airways to ground worldwide fleet Saturday. The fleet comprising 108 aircraft would remain grounded till an amicable agreement is struck with the various unions of workers, pilots, ground staff and mechanics over pay and conditions.
Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce told a news conference in Sydney:
"We have decided to ground the Qantas international and domestic fleets immediately."
