U.S. Quits UNESCO over Anti Israel Bias

In a surprise announcement, Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State, told the Associated Press that USA is pulling out of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The main reason behind quitting UNESCO is its allegedly anti-Israel polices. The U.S. stopped funding UNESCO after it voted to include Palestine as a member in 2011 but still remained part of it.

The recent inclusion of Palestinian Authority to UNESCO is mainly the objection as it is not recognized as a nation. Further, the controversial resolutions calling Israel an 'occupying power' fueled U.S. anger and thus to decision to quit the UN body.
