Israeli moon landing ambition crashes

It has been reported that Israel's spacecraft heading for a moon landing has crashed just before the final landing due to engine failure and has  apparently crashed onto the lunar surface.

"We didn't make it, but we definitely tried," project originator and major backer Morris Kahn said in a live video-cast from mission control near Tel Aviv.

It may be added that just before the landing attempt, the Israeli PM Netanyahu had boasted that he was thinking about initiating a national space project.

Major EU Countries Denounce Trump Decision on Golan Heights

In a fierce reactive mode, five major European countries that sit on the UN Security Council on Tuesday denounced US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize the Golan as Israeli territory and voiced concern the move could have broad consequences.

These countries included Belgium, Britain, France, Germany and Poland. The countries reiterated that the European position had not changed and that the Golan remained Israeli-occupied Syrian territory, in line with international law enshrined in UN resolutions.

“We do not recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the territories occupied by Israel since June 1967, including the Golan Heights, and we do not consider them to be part of the territory of the state of Israel,” Belgian Ambassador Marc Pesteen de Buytswerve told reporters.

It may be recalled that Three UN Security Council resolutions call on Israel to withdraw from the Golan, which it seized from Syria in the 1967 Six-Day War and annexed in 1981, in a move that was never recognised internationally.

US insulted at UNSC with a 14-1 Vote against it on Jerusalem

It was a bad day for US today when an Egyptian sponsored move to pressure US to take back its decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and shifting of its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Except for the US, which ultimately vetoed the resolution, all other 14 members denounced US for its unilateral decision on status of Jerusalem despite clear UN stance on its future through a dialogue between Israel and Palestine.

However, the US representative at the UN Security Council was unmoved by the rebuke and in fact called it at an insult to the US for telling it where it should site its embassy.

Spain court issues arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu over 2010 Gaza flotilla attack

A Spanish court has issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and seven other for the group over 2010 Gaza flotilla attack. 

The judge has directed the police and civil guard to notify him if Mr Netanyahu and other individuals enter the country, as their actions could see a case against them regarding the Freedom Flotilla attack of 2010 reopened.

It may be recalled that the Israel Defence Force had stormed the ship in a raid that left nine human rights activists dead. A tenth activist died later that month due to wounds sustained in the raid.

Israeli police shoots a 13 years old Palestinian and then watch him die

In a bizarre incident of cruelty to humanity, Israeli police shot a 13 years old Palestinian boy and then let him die on the footpath.

According to news reports, Ahmad was being chased through the Pisgat Zeev neighborhood in Jerusalem, by a mob of Israeli settlers. When Ahmed came across a group of police and IDF soldiers, the settlers told police that Ahmed had stabbed a settler. Without any attempt to apprehend and detain Ahmed to search for a weapon, police opened fire.

The settler filming the video shouted “Die! Die, you mother fucker, die! Die, you faggot, die! Die, you son of a bitch!” The man shouted the slurs in both Hebrew and Arabic, to make sure Ahmad knew exactly what he was saying.

Netanyahu speech an insult to US Intelligence, says Nancy Pelosi

The recent speech of Israeli prime minister has drawn a mixed reaction from the people and people-who-matter in the USA.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is reported to have dismissed a speech Tuesday by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as full of “condescension” and an “insult to the intelligence of the United States.”

The California Democrat was visibly upset during Netanyahu’s address on the House floor, in which the Israeli leader urged Congress to take a more aggressive line against Iran as part of ongoing negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear facilities. Pelosi and other congressional Democrats were critical of the brash language Netanyahu used to describe those negotiations.

UN report reveals secret contacts between Israel and ISIS

While the deadly ISIS continues to unleash its condemn-able atrocities killing and burning people alive, a UN reports reveals that Israel and ISIS have proven ties at the backstage.

The report reveals that the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) maintained regular contact with members of ISIS since May 2013. The UN identified contact with IDF forces and ISIS soldiers.

Initial reports from the IDF stated that this was only for medical care for civilians, but that story fell apart when the UN observers identified direct contact between IDF forces and ISIS soldiers, including giving medical care to ISIS fighters.

Syria's Assad warns Israel on air strikes

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad has warned Israel that it will respond aggressively to any future air strikes.

The Syrian president's warning comes after Israel said that it would regard the Russian missiles as a serious threat to its security.

In an interview with a Lebanese TV channel, he said there was "popular pressure" to open a military front against Israel in the Golan Heights.

He also hinted that Syria may have received the first shipment of an advanced Russian air defence system.

Israel airstrike target Iranian missiles shipment in Syrian capital

It has been just reported by an an intelligence official in the Middle East that Israel has launched an airstrike in the Syrian capital on Sunday targeting a shipment of extremely accurate guided Iranian-made missiles believed to be on their way to Lebanon's Hezbollah militant group.

The attack, the second in three days, signaled a sharp escalation of Israel's involvement in Syria's bloody civil war.

The confirmation came hours after Syria's state media reported that Israeli missiles struck a research center near the Syrian capital, setting off explosions and causing casualties.

The official told the Associated Press that, as with Friday's strike, the target was Fatah 110 missiles, which have very precise guidance systems with better aim than anything Hezbollah has in its arsenal.

Breaking News: Israeli war planes bomb 'suspected' chemical weapons site in Syria

In the on going unrest and guerrilla war in Syria, Israel also jumps in with its war planes bombing 'suspected' chemical weapons site in Syria.

The strike occurred overnight Thursday into Friday, the officials told The Associated Press. It did not appear that a chemical weapons site was targeted, they said, and one official said the strike appeared to have hit a warehouse.

The attack with its uncertainty about the target is the repetition of the American poundings in Iraq before the Iraqi invasion on suspected Atomic site which later turned out to be a biscuit factory.

However, Israeli Embassy spokesman Aaron Sagui would not comment Friday night specifically on the report of an Israeli strike into Syria.

Syria reacts to Israel air strike

Syria threatened Thursday to retaliate for an Israeli air strike, and its ally Iran said the Jewish state would regret the attack.

Syria sent a letter to the U.N. secretary-general stressing the country's "right to defend itself, its territory and sovereignty" and holding Israel and its supporters accountable.

It may be added that U.S. officials have confirmed that Israel launched a rare air strike inside Syria on Wednesday targeting a convoy carrying antiaircraft weapons bound for Hezbollah, the powerful Lebanese militant group allied with Syria and Iran.

A U.S. official said the air strike targeted trucks containing sophisticated Russian-made SA-17 antiaircraft missiles. The trucks were next to the military research facility identified by the Syrians, and the strike hit both the trucks and the facility, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about the operation.

Israel announces withholding tax transfers to Palestinians despite UN Vote

Israel on Sunday roundly rejected the United Nations' endorsement of an independent state of Palestine, announcing it would withhold more than $100 million collected for the Palestinian government to pay debts to Israeli companies.

It was the second act of reprisal since the UN General Assembly voted overwhelmingly on Thursday to support the Palestinians' statehood initiative. The following day, Israel announced it would start drawing up plans to build thousands of settlement homes, including the first-ever residential developments on a sensitive piece of land near Jerusalem. Actual construction would be years away.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the statehood campaign, led by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, as "a gross violation of the agreements signed with the state of Israel."

"Accordingly, the government of Israel rejects the UN General Assembly decision," he said. Israel, backed by the U.S., campaigned against the statehood measure, arguing that only negotiations can deliver a Palestinian state.

Arafat body to be exhumed for poison tests

Palestinian officials said Saturday they would exhume the body of their leader Yasser Arafat next week to see if Israel poisoned him with a radioactive isotope.

Forty-seven Palestinians, about half of them civilians, including 12 children, have been killed in Israel's raids, Palestinian officials said. More than 500 rockets fired from Gaza have hit Israel, killing three people and injuring dozens.

Israel unleashed its massive air campaign on Wednesday, killing a leading militant of the Hamas Islamist group that controls Gaza and rejects Israel's existence, with the declared goal of deterring gunmen in the coastal enclave from launching rockets that have plagued its southern communities for years.

In the meantime, Israel is mustering thousands of soldiers and hundreds of tanks and armoured vehicles along the border, while the Egypt's president will today hold four-way talks with the Qatari emir, the prime minister of Turkey and Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal in Cairo to discuss to Gaza crisis.

Israel calls up army reservists for a possible Gaza Offensive

Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak has authorized the call-up of 30,000 army reservists, amid speculation about a possible ground offensive on Gaza.

The developments came after Palestinian militants fired rockets from Gaza 70km (45 miles) north towards Tel Aviv.

There were a number of heavy strikes on Gaza overnight, since Israel killed Ahmed Jabari, the military leader of the Islamist group that controls the territory, on Wednesday.

Israel's army tweeted: "Before action, the IDF disperses warning leaflets calling all civilians to evacuate the area. This happened [on Thursday]."

At least 18 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed in Israeli airstrikes, including children, and three Israelis have been killed by Palestinian rocket fire into southern Israel.

Joint US-Israel attack under 'consideration' for attacking Iran N-Facilities

America and Israel are considering a joint surgical strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, it was claimed today.

Foreign Policy magazine reported a source 'close to the discussions' and said the strike might compose primarily of bombers and drone support.

The suggested attack is expected to last no more than a few days - or even just 'a couple of hours', the magazine said.

Such a strike could be carried out without civilian casualties, and would set back the Iranian nuclear program by back many years.

Israel shoots down mysterious drone

The Israeli air force  shot down a drone after it crossed into southern Israel, the military says, but it remains unclear where the aircraft had come from.

The drone was first spotted above the Mediterranean in the area of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip to the west of Israel, said military spokeswoman Avital Leibovich.

It was kept under surveillance and followed by Israeli air force jets before it was shot down above a forest in an unpopulated area near the border with the occupied West Bank.

Anti-Islamic advertisements will go up across New York City’s subway system next week after a federal judge ruled that the city’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority could not legally refuse to host the signs on the basis of "demeaning" language.

As early as next Monday, ten NYC subway stations will showcase adverts declaring, "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad." The campaign was created by the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), an organization considered a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center watch group.

Pamela Geller, the executive director of the AFDI, stands by her signage despite rampant complaints circulating before the campaign has even begun.

"I will not abridge my freedoms so as not to offend savages,” Geller tells Sky News.
