While the Wall Street fallout to the world has generally remained peaceful, Rome saw a bad day on Saturday when almost 70 protesters were injured as violent clashes erupted in the Italian city between the protesters and the police. As reported, when a group of 500 youths, with their faces hidden beneath black caps and helmets, reached Piazza San Giovanni, they started clashing with the police, breaking shops' windows, throwing bomb bottles against banks and private buildings and setting on fire rubbish bins and cars. Police used tear gas and water canons to disperse the protesters.
