All is set for the export of first sample of  Japonica rice from Pakistan to Japan, reports Rice Export Association of Pakistan (REAP). The sample is scheduled for shipment to Japan next week. Japonica is a short grain rice very popular in Japan and it is the first instance that a Japanese company has contracted its cultivation in Pakistan for its onward sale in Japan, said Irfan sheikh, chairman REAP.
