Australia Warns Commonwealth Becoming Irrelevant

The host Australia to this year's gathering of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting has warned that the organization may be becoming irrelevant as it has failed to keep pace with the rapidly changing world. However, the Australian government also says, "Although the Commonwealth must go through a process of renewal, it still has an important role to play in global affairs."

The heads of governments of Commonwealth countries are gathering in the Western Australian city of Perth from 28-30 October. The theme for this years meeting is "Building National Resilience, Building Global Resilience".
