The Thai floods have now advanced to the second airport of the capital and has its runway submerged in muddy flood waters. The inundated airport has there fore been closed down for all commercial flights. The closure of the airport not only effect the relief operations but may also serve as a big blow to the government's efforts to restore public confidence in protecting them against the onslaught of the flood waters. However, Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, the country's main international gateway, has yet to be affected by flooding is operating normally.
