Brutal tortures of detainees in Afghanistan

A United Nations report says that suspects and Taliban surrendering to the Afghan authorities  are subjected to beatings, shocks and other brutal abuses. The findings may complicate U.S. efforts to hand off security responsibilities. The torture includes heinous and brutal methods of torture giving of electric shocks, being hung by their hands and having their genitals twisted and much more. The report, based on interviews with more than 300 detainees, cited varying degrees of abuses at nearly 50 facilities in two-thirds of Afghanistan's provinces.
