Now that there a re clear signs that the moderate Islamist Party Ennahda has a clear edge over their rivals in the recent elections in Tunisia, it is almost certain that the party secretary general Hamadi Jebali may be the next prime minister.
The elections that had a voter turnover of almost 90% is regarded as fare and transparent my monitoring teams from all over the world. It may be added here that Ennahda candidates have cited as a model the secular, pluralist democracy in Turkey, where the ruling (AKP) party also has an Islamist identity.
