For care takers of Alzheimer's patients there are some good news. Next month GPS fitted shoes, with a price tag of $300, will be available in the USA, which will be able to track the "wandered off" Alzheimer's patients away from their homes. GTX Corps has announced that the first batch of some 3,000 pairs has been shipped. The buyers will be able to set up a monitoring service to locate “wandering” seniors suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Andrew Carle, a professor at George Mason University’s College of Health and Human Services who was an adviser on the project, said the shoes are likely to save lives and avoid embarrassing and costly incidents with the elderly.
