Rafeal Nadal was thoroughly pinned down and routed by Murray despite Nadal winning the first set 6-3, in the Japan Open today. Murray beat Nadal easily in the next two sets to clinch the title 6-2 and 6-0 as Nadal's energies were completely sapped in the third set. Had Nadal won, he would have been the first man since Pete Sampras to retain the Japan Open title.
Murray now eyes the Shanghai Masters, starting from today, where he is again likely to face Nadal in final as Djokovic and Roger Federer have opted out of the tournament on account of injuries.
