Gun turret of HMAS Sydney
In the early days of WW-II, a gun fire between a German ship HSK Kormoran and an Australian ship HMAS Sydney caused both to sink into the deep blue water off the Australian Coast. It was a national tragedy for Australia that all 645 aboard Sydney were drowned. Many since tried to find the wreckage of the Australian ship so that the families of the deceased sailor could be put to ease. Despite interrogating several German sailors who were aboard HSK Kormoran, nothing conclusive could be found and everyone thought that the Germans were lying.
But two psychologists came forward to test their theory and found the Germans were not lying and traced the wreckage of both the ships 67 years after they were sunk. Read how they did - it is very interesting.
