Madonna tells Harper's Bazaar (December Issue) what she was asked but didn't do

Ellie Krupnick reports that Madonna did exactly opposite to what her mother told in her childhood or what mothers of today wont like their daughters to dress up like Madonna or how she sings about her virginity.

Brought up in a strict Catholic-Italian family in the Midwest, she was always to be "nicely" dressed and act like ladies. Madonna tells:

"We were told to wear our skirts to our knees, turtlenecks, cover ourselves and not wear makeup, and not do anything that would draw attention."
