The Burj Khalifa, also known as Burj Dubai, stands at a massive 828-metres high, just over the famous Dubai Mall and its majestic Music Fountain water pond which amuses scores of tourists from around the world every night.

It is just as well the tower's spire, which was constructed with 4,000 tonnes of steel, was built so lightning is deflected away from the main structure.

After the awesome display came the calm in the form of a rainbow, which tried to form an arch over the imposing tower, but its sheer height meant it peeked out over the top.
