US records the deadliest day from the coronavirus as death toll reaches 2,000 deaths in 24 hours


USA witness its deadliest 24 hours as death toll reaches 2,000 with over half a million people affected by the pandemic. This figure is alarmingly high for people are not adhering to "Stay Home - Stay Safe" slogan.

So far, almost 18,747 corona affected patients have perished in USA, only 100 lesser than Italy so far. New York state, which remains the epicenter of the US outbreak, makes up almost half of the total death toll across the whole of the US with 7,844 dead. Peak resource use for hospitals is predicted to occur on Saturday where an estimated 86,379 beds, 17,707 ICU beds and 15,414 ventilators will be needed
