3 Muslim students shot to death in USA

In a bizarre tragic incident, three Muslim students were killed  in an apartment near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus, USA yesterday.

All thrree were shot in their head by a 46 years American Craig Stephen Hicks who has been arrested on three counts of murder.

The casue of murder is yet to be made clear. As per police and the wife of the killer, the gory incident took place on a parking issue.

All three of the victims, Deah Barakat, 23, Yusor Abu-Salha, 21, and Razan Abu-Salha, 19, were Muslim. And given their religion and comments the alleged shooter apparently left on a Facebook page, many social media users wondered what role the victims' faith may have played.

The father of the two daughters killed by the shooter thinks otherwise. He said: "Now that we know from the police that they were shot in the head, very quickly, the three of them, one bullet each, in a very small space inside in the apartment. That's execution-style. I don't know, if that is not hate, what that would be."

Blade Runner gives his horrifying account of killing girlfriend

While there have been many speculations and theories as to what happened, as already posted at Imposing Headlines, the story takes another twist and theory after the blade runner's statement in the court.

In a statement read out to Pretoria magistrates court, the Paralympic athlete told the judge:
" I had been on the balcony of my house when I heard noises from the bathroom. Believing Reeva Steenkamp was asleep in bed, I grabbed his gun and shouted a warning before firing four shots through the door."

"It was only then I realized that Miss Steenkamp was not in bed. 'I kicked the door open.'  'I tried to help her but she died in my arms."

Pistorius is now facing the possibility of months in jail after a magistrate ruled that he faces a charge of premeditated murder, making bail unlikely.

Magistrate Desmond Nair made the ruling after saying he could not exclude the possibility of planning in the death.

The court appearance comes on the same day as Miss Steenkamp's funeral, a private service, after her body was returned to her home town of Port Elizabeth.

Sequence of events of murder of Blade Runner's Girlfriend

It is too early to say what really happened and how and why did the hero Blade Runner Oscar killed his girl friend. But a series of event sconnected graphically show wthe last moments of 29 years old Reeba Steenkamp, Oscar Pistorius's model girlfriend:

The first graphic explanation: Firing the first shot
The second graphic explanation: Oscar 'cuddling' his girlfriend downstairs and then firing on toilet door after she tried to hide inside

It may be added that Miss Steenkamp was shot four times early on Thursday at Pistorius’s luxury home in a secure housing estate on the outskirts of Pretoria.

The release of the controversial drawings showing 'Oscar' pointing a gun at the model, comes as it was revealed that steroids were reportedly found at Blade Runner's luxury home where he is accused of murdering Reeva Steenkamp.

Police are investigating if Pistorius may have shot Miss Steenkamp in a fit of so-called 'steroid rage' - an explosion of aggression caused by performance-boosting steroids.

'Steroid drugs were found at Pistorius’s home together with evidence of heavy drinking. That’s why police have specifically ordered that he be tested for steroids,' a source told The Sun.

But did Oscar really kill his girlfriend?

According to one theory, the athlete first shot Miss Steenkamp by accident, whereupon she fled to the bathroom. He then shot at the door lock to try to get in, accidentally killing her.

Three Men Accused of Delhi Rape to Plead Not Guilty

While the entire India mourns the death of the 23 years old gang rape victim, it is learnty that three men accused of Delhi rape are not going to plead guilty.

The three include Ram Singh, the driver of the bus, his brother Mukesh and Akshay Singh.

Interestingly, the lawyer representing three of the men charged with the gang rape and murder of a medical student aboard a moving bus in New Delhi has blamed the victims for the assault, saying he has never heard of a “respected lady” being raped in India.

Sharma said the male companion of the murdered 23- year-old was “wholly responsible” for the incident as the unmarried couple should not have been on the streets at night.

In the meanwhile, the attack on the woman and her friend, which led to her death almost two weeks later, forced the government to address demands for swifter justice, safer streets and heavier sentences in rape cases. India’s top court on Jan. 4 began considering demands for faster trials and the suspension of lawmakers accused of sex crimes.

The probe will last at least four years and raises the possibility that former British soldiers – some now in their 70s and 80s – could stand trial facing criminal charges.

Thirty officers will focus on the actions of UK paratroopers following the findings of the £195million inquiry by Lord Saville which said none of those killed were armed and no warning was given before soldiers opened fire.

Last night a former Parachute Regiment soldier on duty at Bloody Sunday claimed ex-troops were being made ‘political scapegoats’. ‘It is an appalling betrayal,’ he said.

Arafat died in 2004 from a mystery illness, amid theories that he was killed at the hands of Israeli spy agency Mossad.

But a new investigation has concluded that a urine stain on Arafat's underwear had traces of Polonium-210 20 times the dose needed to kill a human, the highly radioactive substance which killed Russian dissident Alexander Litvinenko six years ago.

The 75-year-old's widow, Suha Arafat, has called for her late husband's body to be exhumed after the Al Jazeera investigation found the traces on clothes he wore in his final days.

Her Majesty somehow even found it within her to smile as she met the man who once headed the terror network responsible for killing Lord Mountbatten - the treasured cousin she knew as 'Uncle Dickie'.

Mountbatten was murdered by the IRA in 1979 along with his young grandson in a bomb blast during a boating trip off Mullaghmore, Co. Sligo. It was an atrocity that sent shockwaves through the Royal Family.

Yet today, in a Jubilee year full of surprises, the Queen spent five minutes with Mr McGuinness behind closed doors in a room within the city's Lyric Theatre, and then the pair shook hands again publicly outside in full view of the world's cameras.

The dead -- four women and three men, one of them believed to be the gunman -- were found late Sunday morning in an apartment living room in the town of Grapevine by police answering a voiceless 911 emergency call, authorities said.
