Ecuador crumbles to US Pressure to Evict WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange


In a dramatic move on Thursday, 11 April 2019, the Ecuadorean embassy in London evicted WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who had been hiding there for the past seven years.

A bedraggled and shackled Mr. Assange, 47, was dragged out of the embassy. At a court hearing, a judge swiftly found him guilty of jumping bail, and he was detained partly in connection with an American extradition warrant.

The Ecuadorean government suspended the citizenship of Julian Assange it had granted to him and evicted him on Thursday, clearing the way for his arrest.





Julian Assange is now likely to face charges in the USA for conspiring to hack into a Pentagon computer network in 2010.
