Free birthing is dangerous - Warn Obstetricians

There is a growing trend these day to have the baby delivered at home WITHOUT any medical assistance, known as free birthing. Obstetricians find the practice too life threatening both for the mother and the baby. A recent study shows that there is a growing trend in Australia of free birthing, although no definite data is available as yet.

A study at University of Western Sydney research presented at the Australian College of Midwives conference in Sydney concludes that it is the disappointing hospital care that is forcing women to chose free birthing.
