Nordex signs 250 MW Wind Energy Projects with Pakistan

Desperately starved of electricity, and vast potential of wind energy, Pakistan has signed four projects totaling 250 MW wind energy projects with Nordex. With the signing of these projects, Nordex becomes one of the first wind turbine suppliers to Pakistan. which has a potential to generate some 11,000 MW from wind energy along its Arabia Sea coastline. Nordex will install its N100/2500 wind turbines in Pakistan.

The first 1.5 megawatt turbines for this project will be shipped to Pakistan next month. Two of the new wind power projects announced today are due in 2012 with each supplying around 150 giga-watt-hours of electricity per annum. As per Nordex, “Pakistan is the most important Asian market outside China for Nordex today. The fact that we were able to sign contracts with four customers at the same time shows that we are already a very trusted supplier there.”
