Tunisians Vote for Democracy

In their first ever free elections, the Tunisians spoke their mind and voted for democracy Sunday. The initial results show victory to Ennahda, the Islamist party. The resolve by the people of Tunisia shows that freedom, democracy and human rights weren't just ideals imported from the West. They managed to get the international community to respect them, reports Rainer Sollich, head of DW's Arab Service.
