"During 2005-2007, Apple’s co-founder and then CEO Steve Jobs had wanted the Cupertino company to make its own wireless carrier network based on WiFi spectrum technology for its iPhone," reports Chip Hazard.
Through iPhone sales, carriers are making much money as iPhone is the number one selling smartphone in US and in many countries. Still as secretive like Apple is, the Cupertino company might still have plans of creating its own carrier for its iPhone in the future to completely own the customer experience.
