Antarctic Marooned 'Tourists' Rescued

The first group of passengers is airlifted out

After a freezing and marooned tour to the Antarctic  the 52 passengers cum tourists have finally been rescued.

They got stranded when their research vessel Akademik Shokalskiy got stuck up into thick Antarctic snow.




They were flown there in groups by a helicopter from a Chinese ice-breaker and all scientists and tourists are now all aboard the ship Aurora Australis.
