The cricketer-turned politician Khan breaches the Red Zone of Islamabad, Pakistan with a large number of his supporters and are gathered around the parliament building to protest against the government of Nawaz Sharif, asking him to resign amid charges of rigging in the last year’s election.
Earlier, he had asked his supporters to observe civil disobedience by not paying federal government’s taxes and bills as he alleges that government is pocketing money and giving no relief to the poor.
Along with Mr Khan, a Canadian cleric of Pakistani origin
Tahir ul Qadri has also marched in with his supporters and now supporters of both parties are giving
a sit-in in front of the parliament house.
Mr Khan is not stopping here as he announced that he would
march on to the PM’s house if he does not resign. Things in next 24 hours are
very crucial to political situation in Pakistan.
