Birdman wins the best movie Oscar

So the secret is out at the 87th Academy Awards ceremony that took place on February 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. 

Birdman won the Oscars for the best picture, direction (Director Alejandro González Iñárritu), cinematography and original screenplay. It was closely tied up with 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' which also bagged four Oscars for best production design, costume design, original score and hair/makeup.

The other leading awards went to the following:

Best Actor: Eddie Redmayne – The Theory of Everything as Stephen Hawking

Best Actress: Julianne Moore – Still Alice as Dr. Alice Howland

Best foreign language film: da (Poland) in Polish  – Paweł Pawlikowski

Best animated feature film: Big Hero 6 – Don Hall, Chris Williams and Roy Conli
