In a bizarre show of extremism, the ISIS extremists barged into the museum in Mosul, Iraq and destroyed relics of art over three thousand years old.

One of the vandals was later heard saying that items being destroyed promoted idolatry. 

The used sledgehammers and power drills to smash ancient artwork as they rampaged through a museum in the northern city of Mosul. One of the items, depicting a winged-bull Assyrian protective deity, dates back to the 9th century B.C.
