You would not believe it but a toddler was ran over twice in the city of Foshan, Guangdong province, last Thursday , but was utterly ignored by the passer-by and shopkeepers. The crime scene captured by surveillance cameras showed the driver paused before driving off and crushing the toddler with his van's rear wheels. Eighteen passers-by ignored the little girl as she lay in agony on the street, with several glancing at her bloodied body before continuing on their way in apparent indifference. After seven minutes, the 19th passer-by, a 58-year-old street cleaner Mrs Chen Xianmei, rushed to the bleeding child and attempted to scoop her up. The two-year-old girl, Yueyue has been declared brain dead on Sunday. The incidence has provoked outrage on China's leading social media sites and newspapers.
