California To Charge Prisoners $142 per Day of Their Stay

Full Story: Huffington Post

It seems the monetary crisis in Europe and USA are taking a heavy toll of budget planners to find ways and means to make up their losses. In one such rare and "innovative" move, the Riverside County, California will start charging prisoners $142.42 per day of their prison stay, CNNMoney reports.

While the move will  save an estimated $3 to $5 million per year for the county, criminals will now have to think twice before committing a crime, as now their stay in the prison will be self-paid. And why shouldn't they, since Obama's policy says that "those who have more, must pay more."
